While our core team and headquarters are in Sacramento, California, we welcome remote workers from all over the country.
We've built a strong culture to foster valuable team relationships with both remote and California team members.
We host frequent trips during the year to bring the team together for extended periods of face-to-face time to build deeper relationships. Some examples of trips include our domestic excursions to San Diego, Newport Beach, and Lake Tahoe. Along with international trips to Costa Rica and Belize.

Primary Role
In this role you will work to build and maintain data systems that are used to provide valuable insights about our customers, teams, and security. Utilizing application data, partner data and internal tools and services you will create meaningful models that can be used by other people on the data team.

You will use your ability to analyze complex and seemingly disparate systems to help tell stories of our business and customers through data. Through a cross-functional role you will work with other engineering teams to help identify and plan for useful data throughout the development process.

Responsibilities
Analyze and organize raw data
Build data systems and pipelines
Evaluate business needs and objectives
Interpret trends and patterns
Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling
Build algorithms and prototypes
Combine raw information from different sources
Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
Identify opportunities for data acquisition
Develop analytical tools and programs
Collaborate with data scientists and architects on several projects

Requirements
Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar engineering role
Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Go and/or Python)
Hands-on experience with SQL database design
Great numerical and analytical skills
Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a Master’s is a plus
Data engineering certification (e.g IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
