While our core team and headquarters are in Sacramento, California, we welcome remote workers from all over the country.
We've built a strong culture to foster valuable team relationships with both remote and California team members.
We host frequent trips during the year to bring the team together for extended periods of face-to-face time to build deeper relationships. Some examples of trips include our domestic excursions to San Diego, Newport Beach, and Lake Tahoe. Along with international trips to Costa Rica and Belize.

Primary Role
You will help us make sense of large amounts of raw information from various sources to help identify patterns and trends that can be used to help us deliver the best products and solutions to our customers. You will work with other members of the data team to ensure we are leveraging the raw data from our platform, external systems and customer feedback to setup a solution that can leverage research and machine learning to help our customers succeed using our products.

You will need strong organization skills to perform effectively in this cross-functional role that will work with sales, operations, engineering and our C-suite to define prioritize and implement valuable data models and system.

Responsibilities
Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
Combine models through ensemble modeling
Present information using data visualization techniques
Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

Requirements
Proven experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Data Engineer
Experience in data mining
Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
Knowledge of R, SQL and Python; familiarity with Go is an asset
Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop, Redshift)
Analytical mind and business acumen
Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
Problem-solving aptitude
Excellent communication and presentation skills
BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred
Proficient knowledge of cloud computing
Proficient knowledge of database and networked systems
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Detail-oriented
Team player
