While our core team and headquarters are in Sacramento, California, we welcome remote workers from all over the country.  

We've built a strong culture to foster valuable team relationships with both remote and California team members.

We host frequent trips during the year to bring the team together for extended periods of face-to-face time to build deeper relationships.  Some examples of trips include our domestic excursions to San Diego, Newport Beach, and Lake Tahoe. Along with international trips to Costa Rica and Belize.

Primary Role

Collaborate with product teams and engineers to help implement new product features and enhancements for our customers; focusing on the frontend and UI layers. Provides support to senior engineering leadership and helps mentor junior engineers. Able to provide direction and vision to help improve the UI customer experience as well as the engineering experience. Provides mentorship to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the engineering team with feature frontend development
  • Be an active member of the engineering team by contributing to meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Work to improve the codebase, developer experience and reduce tech debt
  • Plays an active role in project management
  • Writing and maintaining quality code and tests
  • Working new features through collaboration with other engineers
  • Monitoring the performance of production/test frontend systems
  • Writing documentation and reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 4-8 years of professional software engineering experience
    Mastery knowledge of Javascript (React, Angular, Node), CSS, HTML
  • Mastery programming experience. Understanding of core engineering concepts, tooling, etc.
  • Experience with maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Mastery knowledge of browsers and user interfaces and interaction. UI/UX patterns
  • Mastery knowledge of web-based APIs (GraphQL, REST)
  • Able to work cross-functionally with backend engineers and architects.
  • Plays an active role in project management
  • Ability to learn quickly
